Screen Printing …

I’ve been really enjoying my placement and the really accessible techniques being used at my placement.  For the screen printing, Clare uses hand cut stencils and stretches her own silk screens.  Her stencils are so intricate but surprisingly strong!

Using this technique, I have started to develop my design using my fossil inspiration and loosely following my initial CAD ideas.

I didn’t choose to use screen printing very much during my first year of study and didn’t attempt a large scale design at all.  Placing the different elements of the design in the correct place has proven to be the trickiest thing ever!  However, I’m still quite pleased with how the design is unfolding and especially pleased to be able to take the time to ponder without deadlines looming!
